What’s Helios-II ?

Helios-II is a type of Q-switch Nd: YAG laser machine manufactured by Laseroptek Co., LTD. This machine is capable of producing laser light at a wavelength of 1064 nanometers, which is effective in treating melasma, freckles, dark tattoos, and abnormalities in skin pigment within the dermis. Additionally, it emits laser light at a wavelength of 532 nanometers, which is effective in treating red tattoos and pigment abnormalities in the superficial skin layer.

Why use the Helios II machine?

The Helios II machine was developed to provide greater stability in laser energy. It has been enhanced to ensure uniform energy distribution by using advanced technology known as "Cell Lens," which allows for a homogeneous spot size, preventing pinpoint bleeding. This improvement results in better treatment efficacy, reduces the occurrence of side effects such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and minimizes downtime.

- Removal of dark-colored tattoos such as black, blue, and green ink

- Melasma (a common skin condition causing brown patches on the face)

- Nevus of Ota (a type of birthmark that appears as blue or gray-brown patches on the face)

During Helios ll treatment:

Helios ll is a laser machine developed to be more effective and safer. During the treatment, you'll typically feel only warmth on areas with normal skin and generally more comfortable. In areas with pigment spots, there might be a mild warming sensation and slight redness. This redness tends to gradually fade away on its own within 24 hours.

Post-care for Helios ll treatment:

• After the treatment, if you feel a burning sensation on the skin, it's recommended to apply a cool compress until the discomfort subsides.
• It's advised to use moisturizers, sunscreen with an SPF of over 30, and skincare products that nourish the skin.
• Avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight.
• If there are flakes in the treated area, applying a moisturizing cream is recommended to increase moisture, making it easier and faster for the flakes to come off. Avoid picking or scratching the flaked areas.
